What is THE 48, exactly?
Connective ministry infrastructure — not a church, denomination, or replacement for personal evangelism. It exists to make sure someone who responds to the gospel actually gets contacted by a local church, within 48 hours.
How are participating churches vetted?
Churches affirm foundational Christian doctrine (see What We Believe) and designate a trusted follow-up leader responsible for receiving and acting on connections.
What happens to a person's information?
Basic contact information is passed, with the person's permission, to the matched church's designated follow-up leader — that's it. See the Privacy page for how signup-form details are handled.
Does THE 48 tell churches how to disciple people?
No. THE 48 stops at the handoff. What happens after that — discipleship, pastoral care, membership — is entirely up to the local church.
What if a church doesn't respond in time?
The connection can be redirected so the person isn't forgotten. Response time is one of the things the pilot is built to measure.
What does joining the pilot cost or commit us to?
Right now, nothing beyond a willingness to name a follow-up leader and test the handoff process. The pilot is intentionally small — 5 to 10 churches in Central Texas — so we can learn before asking for more.
Is THE 48 affiliated with a denomination?
No. It's built to work across denominational lines, with churches that affirm the shared doctrinal foundation.
