Chase Parrish
Founder and President, CPS (Chase Parrish Space) · San Marcos, Texas
For more than twenty years, Chase has preached on the street and shared the gospel one conversation at a time. He aims to give the full counsel of the gospel to at least one person every day.
Along the way he has done work with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and the Luis Palau Association, served three churches as a youth minister, and toured for seven years with a Christian hip hop group.
THE 48 grew out of what he kept seeing: a real gospel conversation ends, and nothing follows. From San Marcos, Texas, he is working with Central Texas pastors and churches to close that gap with one simple commitment: contact within 48 hours.
Testimony
In Chase's words
I was raised in a Christian home, so the gospel was never something I discovered late. It was the air I breathed.
When I was six, I prayed the sinner’s prayer. That same year, with all the certainty of a six-year-old boy, I told my parents what I was going to do with my life: I was going to be an evangelist.
I had no idea what it would cost.
Between the ages of six and seven, I suffered four strokes. The second left me in a coma for two days. My mother stood beside a child she could not wake and prayed that if God would raise her son up, she would give him completely to Him.
I woke up.
Much of my memory was gone. My right side was damaged. What followed were years of therapy, relearning, and rebuilding, and eventually a diagnosis: Lyme disease, from a tick bite. Not long after, my mother was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma. She fought for five years. Then God took her home.
Somewhere in those years, the words of that little boy came back. At seventeen I was president of two clubs at my high school, and what began there grew into work on the circuit with the Tampa Bay Baptist Association, then radio, then relationships with ministries far larger than anything I had imagined as a child.
There have been many chapters since—seasons of ministry, seasons of difficulty, failures that humbled me, and a great deal of grace. Through all of it, the Lord has continually brought me back to the calling He placed on my life as a boy.
My testimony is not that I have lived an extraordinary life. It is that God has been extraordinarily faithful through an ordinary and imperfect one.
God did not preserve my life merely so that I could have one. He gave me a life to spend.
And I want to spend it doing what I told my parents I would do: tell people about Jesus Christ.
THE 48 is a concept and project of CPS (Chase Parrish Space), built to close the gap between a gospel conversation and a person's connection to a local church.
Why this exists
Too many gospel encounters end with good intentions and no follow-through. THE 48 is an attempt at infrastructure — not a replacement for the local church, but a bridge to it.
